Dear Parents and Students.docxnew year.2023
Dear Parents and Students,
I am excited to welcome you all back for a new school year on August 30th. We are eager to begin our new school year, as we welcome new friends and connect with our classmates.
It has been a busy summer, filled with cleaning, painting, and shining up this 102-year-old building. The new materials and books we have ordered have arrived. We are ready for another great year. We welcome Ms. Golas back to teach second grade and Ms.Cyr to teach Kindergarten, to replace Ms. Bowden.
You will receive a letter from your child’s teacher, over the weekend. In that envelope you will receive the letter of welcome from your child’s teacher and your car line tag number. We will follow the same procedure as last year for arrival and dismissal. The Before School Program will begin on the first day at 7:30. The after school program will end that day at 5:45. If you have not filled out the paperwork for the program, you need to do so immediately.
New students in grades 1-8 will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about school procedures at our Open House on Tuesday, August 29th at 1PM. Looking forward to welcoming our new students and parents at that time. No need to wear a uniform on this day.
Kindergarteners are invited to their Open House on Wednesday, August 30th. There will be two sessions. The times will appear on the email that was sent earlier today.
Preschoolers will attend their open house on Friday, September 1st from 10-11:30. You should have received a letter from Mrs. Coughlin, earlier in the summer.
Uniforms are and continue to be an issue with all the companies that we are working with. We will work together to try and get through all of the issues. Summer uniforms (shorts and polo shirts) can be worn until October 31st . Remember that the uniform shoe/sneaker is to be solid black.
The bus schedules will be published on the web site as soon as they are released from Worcester Public Schools. I will send a text notifying you that they are available. If you did not file your information online, you will not have a bus for the first day of school.
If you ordered gym uniforms or additional polo shirts, those orders have been filled and will be sent home with your student or given to those parents who are attending one of the two open houses.
Welcome to another Happy New Year! A fresh start, a new beginning!
Thank you for entrusting your children to our care.
May God’s blessings be on all of you,
Mrs. Meg Kursonis, Principal
