St. Peter

Feast Day: June 29

Peter, the first pope, was a fisherman from Galilee. Jesus invited Peter to follow him, saying: "I will make you a fisher of men." Peter was a simple, hard-working man. He was generous, honest and loved Jesus very much.

This great apostle's name was Simon, but Jesus changed it to Peter, which means "rock." "You are Peter," Jesus said, "and on this rock I will build my Church."

Our Mission

We, the faith community of St. Peter Central Catholic, provide a caring atmosphere for students in Preschool through Grade Eight. Within our Catholic, diverse community, we strive to welcome, educate and acknowledge each individual.  We nurture the intellectual curiosity and spirit of all.  We are committed to treat all that we encounter with respect, love and mercy.  We are called to be Disciples of Christ's love.

Second Grade Resurrection Gardens

Ms. Giuliani's and Mrs. Nordahl's Second graders created their own Resurrection Gardens.  A resurrection garden is a garden created in a container complete with Jesus' tomb.  The children placed planting soil, pebbles for a path, moss, grass seed, a small clay pot for the tomb and a larger stone to cover the tomb's entrance.  The children have to take turns daily in spraying their table's garden.  As the grass grows and life comes to the garden, it reminds the children of the Resurrection of Jesus.

St. Peter's Prayer Parents

Please consider being an SPCC Prayer Parent!

There is no in-person time commitment.  The commitment is to pray the Rosary once a week on Wednesdays, on your time, for the intentions of the SPCC students, staff and their families.

Why the Rosary?  The Rosary is a beautiful meditation, since it relies on several key scriptural sequences (called mysteries), which celebrate Christ's life, death, resurrection, and much more.

It can be prayed all at once.  Or, it can be prayed spaced out throughout the day!  (Pray the first decade in the shower, the 2nd decade on the drive to work, the 3rd decade in the car in the pick-up line at school, etc.)

We will begin praying Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

SPCC Prayer Parents will receive a copy of the Rosary prayers.

Please join us and have a blessed school year!

Service Hours
For those families not familiar with the Program, St. Peter Central Catholic School participates in an optional program to reduce tuition costs each year.  Parents choosing to participate in this program must fill out a Service Agreement sign-up form and work the hours each year in order to qualify for the reduction.

There are different ways a family may receive credit for work hours. Some of the Service opportunities are: Bingo, Christmas Fair, Book Fair, Spree Day, Fright Night, Auction, etc.

All service hours are monitored and tallied after each event.  Credit is given twice a year.  The Catholic School Department will be notified.

For more information on Service Hours, please click here.

It is our hope that parents will serve on committees and volunteer in our school regardless of service hours.
Our community thrives on parental support.
Thank you for all that you do.
